Healthcare Management Solutions Chief Executive Tony Stein will be discussing the role of technology in care homes at an upcoming virtual summit.

At a time when traditional large-scale industry conferences are unable to take place due to coronavirus restrictions, the care industry will be ‘going virtual’ on 8th October 2020.

The Care Virtual Summit will bring together care leaders, experts and workers for a virtual day of discussion, insight, and continued personal development. The virtual event organised by Care Roadshows will give those who work in the care sector a chance to discuss and share ideas around the challenges faced by the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With visiting restrictions having affected all care homes at some point in the past 6 months, many operators have turned to technology to bridge the gap between residents and loved ones. Smartphones and tablets have become a part of everyday life for residents and care teams. They are used for everything from video calls with relatives to virtual consultations with health professionals.

During a seminar with Yvonne Hignell, Chief Operating Officer of Cera Care, Tony Stein will discuss how the current situation has accelerated the growth of technology in care homes and home care.

At Healthcare Management Solutions, we are delighted to have launched a partnership with a wellbeing expert to support our staff who are working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Whilst living with the pandemic and working from home can no longer be considered novel, the impact of what are fairly dramatic changes to the way we live and work can’t be denied. With staff wellbeing a core pillar of our philosophy, we’ve decided to make the best of the situation.

Working in conjunction with the excellent coach, mentor and physical trainer Alex Myers, we have launched HCMS90. HCMS90 is a 90-day programme to help support and encourage the team to achieve personal goals, become more energised and have some fun. Using Zoom and the company intranet, Portal, those choosing to take advantage of Alex’s superb coaching will be encouraged to set and achieve daily targets and to support and encourage each other towards their personal 90-day goals.

Speaking for HCMS, Vicky Cutter, HR Director said “It’s important that we do whatever we can to maintain the HCMS team spirit even though we’re all working remotely. By bringing Alex’s skills into the team we can all stay connected and achieve some personal goals along the way. It should be a lot of fun.”
